A trip to the apple orchard

Onto the best season… of apple orchards, cider mills, cozy sweaters and of course, comfortable and casual boots for the colder seasons ahead! I’m always excited to switch over my sandals for a pair of ankle boots when autumn hits! Eric and I are both styling some options from Blundstone USA – a company established in Tasmania. They have boots that are rugged and iconic enough that work for a hike on a trail or on a rainy street when you’re walking downtown. We wore ours out to one of our favorite apple orchards to take part in some autumn fun! 🍎

Zenner's Farm Market

Autumn, autumn, AUTUMN. 🍂 I’m so excited to be moving into my autumn content! I feel like other bloggers have been blogging pumpkin patches since the end of August. 🤣 Oh well. I had so much to catch up on — we had some amazing trips at the end of summer/early fall, so I really can’t complain. But I’m excited to be here, caught up, posting on all the pumpkin patches, apple orchards, hot cider, pumpkin spice and burnt orange errythang until December hits. Here we go! But yeah, I was excited to partner up with Lulus for this post! They are killing the fall game right now — I was excited to pick out some new goodies! I went for this cozy sweater which is more of a reddish orange color, and a pair of the high-rise cropped Levi’s because these jeans are just amazing. Be sure to head over to Lulu’s website… lots of cute fall items right now!

Sunflower fields

Okay… excuse the repeat outfit post here, but I just had to take photos in this sunflower field we spotted on our way home from Ohio! So on our way up to the upper peninsula, I made Eric drive like 45 minutes out of the way (😬) to find a sunflower field in Traverse City. We spotted it, but all the sunflowers were flopped over dead and the field itself was SAD. So we ended up taking these photos instead, but… I still was dying to see a sunflower field and take photos in one! So we were driving home from Ohio, same outfit as this post, and I spotted this field and was like, “STOPPP!” Hahaha. So here I am, in the field I wanted, I just wish I had packed an extra outfit! 😆

Simon Kenton Inn

Onto my last post from our trip to Springfield, Ohio! So I wanted to do an entire blog post on where we stayed… because it was wonderful. I loved it! We were able to stay in one of the treehouses at the historic Simon Kenton Inn. For a little history, Simon Kenton was a U.S. frontiersman and a soldier. He served the United States in the Revolution, the Northwest Indian War and the War of 1812. The land was deeded to him by the U.S. government. Simon’s cabin was built adjacent to where the old Spring House still stands and a historical marker is all that remains today. These grounds have so much history, charm, and character to them. We loved exploring the inn, and we were lucky enough to stay in one of the newest additions to the property — their luxury treehouses!

Day in Springfield

Onto our first full day in Springfield, Ohio! We packed this day to the brim from morning to night… so I have lots of fun recommendations if you’re planning a visit to the city. But it felt like a good, slow, relaxing day too. We kicked off the day with coffee and a small breakfast at Un Mundo Cafe! When we got downtown and parked, we realized the cafe was right next to their farmer’s market. They have over 35 vendors, with live music, food trucks and fun all in the North Market Alley adjacent to the Heritage Center. Un Mundo Cafe is right on that little corner, so we snuck in for a coffee (soy chai for me, of course) and a lemon poppyseed muffin before making our way over to the Heritage Center for a morning of exploring!

Greetings from Springfield Mural

Greetings from Springfield, Ohio! I’m moving into a few posts from our trip there a few weeks ago. I love Springfield. It’s definitely a small town, and to be honest, I probably wouldn’t have heard of it if they hadn’t invited me on a press trip last year… but after our second weekend in the city, I can confirm that we’ve had two really great weekends there. It almost feels like home in a little way now. 🤣 What’s fun too is… this weekend felt like a totally different trip than our weekend there last year! We went back to a few favorite places, but did a lot of new things, explored new areas, and stayed in a super fun treehouse! I’ll be blogging all about our trip, but to kick it off, let’s start with our first night there! A stop to the Greetings from Springfield mural, which is brand new!
